Freedom Interiors Finds Furniture Solutions For Expanding Church

3934 Washington Street, Kansas City, Missouri has been home to Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church since 2006. In 2021, their expanding team was busting at the seams in their original parish, which led them to purchasing the church and offices next door, formerly the Revolution United Methodist Church.
The newly purchased, old church needed a number of updates including interior and exterior paint, lounge furniture and office furniture. Their neighbor to the South, Freedom Interiors, was able to provide them with a variety of parish furniture and church library furniture options within their space.
The area was divided into multiple private, semi-private and collaboration spaces that could be used be a single person, small or large group.
From entering the office space, you can see the multi-use spaces. A large JSI Caav, grey couch gives comfortable, lounge seating to seven individuals looking to relax or collaborate. The yellow, Friant Jest chair rounds out the lounge area with two HAY Bella tables.
Eleven HAY About a Chair were placed in three separate locations accompanying Friant Dash tables in two sizes. The smaller round, Dash tables gave smaller groups space to meet, while the larger rectangular version gave up to five people the opportunity to collaborate.
The fourth area of the main hub gave the most privacy to collaborative groups through the use of the JSI Caav. The Media Booth has high partition walls enclosed the users almost completely. Both USB ports and standard outlets are powered through the middle of the table.
More individualized areas are placed in a slightly more secluded area separated by Herman Miller’s OE1 Agile Wall shelving. Within the areas are a small collaboration space fitted with a black JSI Awryn couch and two Herman Miller Dorso lounge chairs. An individual work area is given with the Friant’s Nik Lounge Chair and ottoman, along with a HON Birk side table.
More traditional worksurfaces came in with Herman Miller’s OE1 Benching, Tu Storage and Friant Vektor task chairs. Those same Friant Vektor chairs are also used in the conference room with a HON Preside conference table.
