Johnson County Courthouse
February 5, 2021
Johnson County started construction on a $193 million dollar courthouse back in 2018, paving the way for a more functional space to serve the Johnson County community. Freedom Interiors worked with the Johnson County Facilities Team to provide lobby seating, common area furniture, courtroom furniture and dividers and outdoor furniture including outdoor seating and outdoor tables.
The space is a major upgrade from the previous courthouse. Freedom Interiors was part of a team of providers who worked with The Johnson County Facilities Team to outfit the stunning seven-story, 28 courtroom building with beautiful and functional furnishings. Over the last few months of 2020, the court justices and staff started to move into their new space.
Until the pandemic is over, the Court is operating virtually, with all hearings meeting through video conferencing applications. Though the virtual grand opening of the building at 150 W Santa Fe Street, Olathe KS may not have been the original plan, the public finally gets to see the complete project after two years of construction.
