High School Gets Upgrade Through Multiple, Alternative Seating Options

Shawnee Mission West High School in Overland Park, Kansas was the third high school in the district to have their learning spaces upgraded with educational furniture.

The classrooms typicals included KI Ruckus counter-height stools, Academia Zed four leg chairs, height-adjustble Wisconsin Bench Une-T Two Student Tables, Wisconsin Bench ELO Arcadia individual desks, and alternative soft seating through the use of Fomcore Round ottomans on glides.

The verstility of these pieces gave teachers the options to easily rearrange their classrooms to fit their individual teaching style and classroom environments. Classrooms were arranged in small group clusters, multi-level rows and individual seats and desks.

More unique furniture was utilized in the Career and Tech Education classrooms to better fit their content needs. The design lab and sewing labs were outfitted with yellow Global Stream Multipurpose chairs. Additionally, the sewing lab was outfitted with HAY About A Stools in grey and Wisconsin Bench’s LOBO tables for collaborative, small groups.

The industrial tech lab was home to Wisconsin Bench’s Susie Cube table with a butcher block top for a durable work surface. The lightweight Wisconsin Bench hangout stools with a carrying cutout made for easy mobility when stools needed to be moved to allow for working.
