School Branding Enchanced By Education Furniture

Shawnee Mission East High School, in Overland Park, KS, was the second high school in the district to revamp their education furniture. Last summer, Shawnee Mission North became the first high school to get the refresh of their interior when they took on a new look and new mascot.

Each classroom was specified with furniture specific to that class and its individual needs. While classroom typicals were home to much of the same furniture pieces, their configuration was different in each class to meet the needs of the teachers and their classroom management and teaching style.

The tables were finished with a blue band, enhancing the Lancers school spirit. The height-adjustable Wisconsin Bench Plymouth II tables on casters made for easy mobility and flexibility to change the classroom layout. One history classroom placed their desks in pods for small group collaboration, while the Government classroom utilized a multilevel U-shape layout.

The business classroom had a similar set up to the typical classroom with pod, however the Wisconcin Bench ELO tables and Zed chairs allowed for groups of six. The bar-height tables and bar stools allowed for an alternative seating option. The OFGO Studio Invite couch and seating combination provided a soft seating option that was highly favored among the teachers and students.

The Family and Consumer Science classroom used Wisconcin Bench’s Susie Cube counter height workstation with built in storage, along side the Academia Zed stools. Four Wisconsin Bench Elo Rectangle tables in a separate work area allowed for a large work surface to cut materials.

The art room housed different furniture from most of the classrooms using counter-height Allied Innovation Makertables with a Lancer blue base and height-adjustable National Public Seating swivel stools.
