50 Years in the Making: Lee’s Summit High School

Fre3dom Interiors embarked on an inspiring collaboration with Lee’s Summit High School, breathing new life into the educational environment that had stood unchanged for over 50 years. Recognizing the importance of creating a contemporary and engaging atmosphere for students, Fre3dom Interiors applied innovative design concepts to transform classrooms, common areas, and learning spaces. The focus was not only on aesthetics but also on fostering an environment conducive to collaboration and communication. By reimagining the physical space, Fre3dom Interiors aimed to enhance the overall learning experience for students at Lee’s Summit High School.

This classroom designs provides student voice & choice through seating. Students can be at bar height seating or be on lounge seating, with laptop tables to support. All the desks are all one wheels, allowing for different classroom configurations to be made.

This is a prime example of a classroom outside of a classroom. Students are able to use lounge seating and mobile furniture to continue to foster collaboration with their peers.

The redesign incorporated modern furnishings, interactive technology, and flexible seating arrangements to encourage collaborative learning and adaptability. Fre3dom Interiors worked closely with school administrators, teachers, and students to understand their needs and preferences, ensuring that the final design would resonate with the diverse student body. Emphasizing open spaces, the new layout facilitated communication and teamwork, promoting a sense of community within the school. The project sought to create an environment where students could thrive academically while also honing essential communication skills, preparing them for the challenges of the modern world.

These lounge couches come with ottomans and laptop tables where students can work outside of the classroom or a nice hangout spot to talk with friends.

What a change from the traditional classroom setup! This classroom contains all soft seating with ottomans and laptop tables. This space allows for comfortability while still fostering engagement and collaboration.

This area located by the front of the building can be a vital space for students to work or hangout. There are ottomans, configurable furniture, laptop tables, along with technology support to ensure students can utilize this space as they see fit.

This project took several years to complete, but the ability to put the entire school together has made Lee’s Summit High School quite the showstopper for all to see. The collaboration between Fre3dom Interiors and Lee’s Summit High School exemplifies a commitment to modernizing education spaces, fostering collaboration, and empowering students with the skills they need to succeed in a rapidly evolving society.
